Women’s Voice and Leadership South Africa (WVL-SA) is pleased to invite all grantees to enter your project/s/ leader/ organisation for an award at the WVL-SA Learning and Sharing Summit on 6-7 March 2023. Winners will be announced on International Women’s Day on 8 March 2023 at a special event hosted by the Canadian High Commission. In this competition we are all winners! Please don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate what we have achieved despite enormous odds! All applications must be submitted by midnight on Wednesday 15 February 2023 for approval and travel arrangements to be made.

This summit is only open to WVL-SA grantees to share work funded by Global Affairs Canada


  • All applications must be submitted here on the online portal. You may download the word version of the application form for reference only by going to the category on the website. Please note that all applications must be submitted online.
  • You will also find a power point template for each entry on the website. Please submit this along with your application. You will be able to update your power point if you wish before the actual summit.
  • You will also have the opportunity on the portal to upload additional evidence such as videos, photos, reference letters and brochures. Please have these ready

  • All WVL grantees – Rapid Response, Networking and MY Core are expected to present at least one best practise at the summit. You may however choose to enter more than one category.
  • As far as possible, the best practise should concern your WVL work. We do appreciate however that it may also draw from previous or complimentary work since no project exists in isolation.


  • Please prepare a ten minutes’ power point presentation for the categories you enter that answers to the questions outlined in the template on the WVLSA website. Kindly add as many photos and or short video clips as possible; your logo and a background to the power point presentation.
  • All entries on power point must be received by Wednesday 15 February 2023.
  • You will be required to present to a panel of judges from 6-7 March 2023.
  • Please bring any further evidence you would like to present in support of your application.
  • WVL staff are available as always to assist you with preparing and practicing your presentation.


  • A panel of judges will be assessing your application during the presentation.
  • They will use the session in which you present to clarify any questions or queries they might have.
  • The judges’ will score each entry through an online system.

Venue and travel costs

  • The summit and training will be held at the GL Cottages and related venues.

  • If you are travelling from out of town (see application form), Gender Links WVL-SA will cover the cost of your travel at the most cost effective rate. Should you confirm and travel arrangements are made and you do not attend you will be required to reimburse air/bus ticket funds.

  • All meals will be provided for all participants for the duration of the summit and training.
