At uThando Restoration Centre, we believe in the power of education, empowerment, and community to transform lives. Born from a deep-seated vision in 2011 by our founder, Nontuthuzelo Dlamini, our mission is to uplift and support youth and women in rural uMbumbulu. Through skills development, counselling, and community partnerships, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and dysfunction, creating a future filled with hope and possibility.
The project aims to promote gender equality and address Gender-Based Violence (GBV) by implementing the key pillars of the South African National Strategic Plan on GBVF. It focuses on preventing violence, rebuilding social cohesion, ensuring justice, safety, and protection for victims, providing responsive care, support, and healing, and empowering women economically. By fostering safe, inclusive communities and advancing equal opportunities, the project seeks to reduce GBV, strengthen community resilience, and enhance the well-being of survivors, enabling sustainable, gender-just societies.
