The Mutale Victim Empowerment Programme was established in 2005 by a group of community members from Tshilamba and surrounding areas who attended Faith Mission Church. Amongst the founding members are: Mr Netshifhefhe V.C – a social worker, Munzhelele S.S – a warrant officer and Mudau A.N – a former Programme Director.
The WVLSA project aims to reduce the incidents of gender based violence by empowering women and girls, providing them with information on GBV, where to report, encouraging them to break the silence and providing victims of GBV and sexual abuse with temporary shelter for the maximum of three days. We also aim to educate women and girls on sexual and reproductive health and rights.
