Voice of Disability was established in 2010 with the expressed purpose of creating an E-platform for disabled women to speak up and out, and aligns itself with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People With Disabilities (UNCRPD), and in particular with the following articles.

Although women are marginalized in society, the marginalization experienced by disabled women is amplified manifold due to the lack of access. Latching onto the slogan of the disability rights movement namely, “Nothing About Us without Us”, Fadila Lagadien, a disabled woman believes that nothing will change for disabled women without them making their own voices heard. To give expression to voices of disabled women, VoD creates an online presence through the Internet and social media platforms.

The WVLSA project aims to keep disabled women nourished, safe, protected and connected to the outside world during this crisis.
