The organisation was established in 2019 by Litshani Tshikororo and Rinae Sengani.  The aim behind this establishment is to give feminism support to Masindi Clementine Mphephu who is contesting the throne to be the Queen of the vhaVenda people. Our aim was to bring attention to infringements of gender equality in traditional leadership which could not be done by individuals but through an organization.

KNN aims to prevent unfair discrimination and promote equality through capacity building in institutions LHTL, Department & Minister of CoGTA, and to be responsive in them. We aim to implement public participation workshops in communities to create awareness of the gender Equality Clause in the Constitution.

On a community level, the WVL project aims to educate rural women about their rights while using specific case studies of women who have gone to court to fight succession and won.
