The organisation was founded in 2017 by Iris Canham, Community Development Practitioner and Susie Weekes, fundraiser from the US working on a research paper on HIV AIDS in South Africa. The aim of the organisation is to create a trajectory for orphaned and vulnerable children through education, empowerment and engagement.
Through this WVL project we will provide nutritional support for ECD Practitioners to keep them well and nourished during this pandemic, through the provision of nutritious cereal that contains the RDA to support their nutritional needs. The ‘garden in a box’ packs help establish/expand food gardens in homes for self sufficiency/ sell surplus to support income. We work with 10 ECD centres in poverty stricken and rural areas around Amanzimtoti. Many rural centres cannot afford to pay staff. The stress has an impact on their wellbeing. Lets help them to stay well, reduce stress, provide means to supplement their food supplies or income.
